Nereida Betancor Sánchez
About me
I am a trained interpreter between Spanish, English and German with a Bachelor's degree (2013) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain).
At an advance level I have completed a Master's degree (2015) in Intercultural Mediation and Professional Translation with a major in interpreting (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and another Master's degree in Translation & Interpreting Research at University Jaume I (Spain).
I am currently working as a PhD candidate at the Institute for Interpreting and Translation Studies at Stockholm University.

I have previously taught on Public Service Interpreting I, Public Service Interpreting II and on the bachelor's course for Interpreting at TÖI. I have also been course director for Public Service Interpreting I .

Research
Research interests
I am really passionate about interpreting professionalization and how the interpreter's socio-cognitive processes affect their performance, expertise and behaviour. My main area of interest is Cognitive Translation and Interpreting studies (CTIS), but I am also interested in Psycholinguistics, Social Psychology and Sociology.
