Research group Preschool children's changing knowledge

The program Preschool children's changed knowledge focuses on which methods work to follow and support each child's development and learning in the daily teaching in preschool. A research group from Stockholm University and Södertörn University led by Anna Palmer and Christian Eidevald is responsible for the research effort

What does quality mean in preschool? How can we follow up and document children's changed knowledge in relation to the goals in the preschool curriculum (LpFö 18)? What abilities and knowledge do teachers and leaders at different levels of the organization need to have in order to develop the preschools' systematic quality work? These are questions that are the focus of the R&D program Preschool children's changing skills.

The overall aim of the program is to develop long-term and research-based working methods that contribute to a higher teaching quality, with a focus on children's emotional, cognitive and social development and strengthened quality in the interactions between staff and children.

The work in the R&D program is carried out as a process over three years (2025-2027) and is based on collaboration between researchers and practitioners.

A research group from Stockholm University and Södertörn University is responsible for the research effort. The research group is led by Christian Eidevald (SH) and Anna Palmer (SU). The group also includes Sofia Frankenberg (SU) and Lena Aronsson (SU)

The program is led by a steering committee from the participating school principals, the research group and Ifous.
