Juvenile delinquency is one of the central problem areas both in criminological research and in Swedish public debate. Several of Sweden experts on juvenile delinquency are involved in this book project, which has been ongoing since 2001.

The project explores new knowledge processes between actors in digital crime prevention, focusing specifically on Swedish municipalities’ implementation of crime preventive technologies.

Youths sentenced to youth custody constitutes a small group but with high levels of previous crimes, many previous social difficulties and a high risk of recidivism. But which factors are important for lower or higher re-offending? And what pre-release activates are planned for the youths?

Is it emotion or knowledge that drives crime policy? This research project will investigate just that. It will also look at whether and how this has changed over time, and provide a historical perspective on current crime policy.

The Crime Drop represents one of the most unexpected social changes in the Western world in recent decades. Contemporary criminological research has therefore been focusing on trying to unfold the driving forces of this development.
