Set design, objects, puppets and not least costume are growing research areas in Theatre Studies.
These are perceived as aesthetic, dramaturgical and technical tools for staging a theatrical production and creating dramatic characters. Costume is studied from an aesthetic, cultural-historical, social and political perspective, with an emphasis on the material aspect of costume, its significance and issues of power.
