History. Bachelor's Course
The course is the third semester of history studies. It consists of a larger independent thesis in history amounting to 15 university credits (högskolepoäng) and of coursework aiming toward deepened theoretical knowledge.
The course is divided into three parts: 1. Thesis 15 hp 2. Theory and methods 7,5 hp 3. Optional and specialised literature 7, 5 hp.
Part 1 centres on the independent production of a substantial scientific thesis. Research skills are taught in a seminar series in which the finalized research papers are also debated and defended. The students write their theses under individual supervision of a tutor.
Part 2 deals with the use of theory and methods in empirical research. The course also provides orientation in historiography.
Part 3 is a course that is individually designed and pursued which aims to give the student deeper knowledge within a chosen field.
