Development goals in Asia
The course aims to impart knowledge about political, economic and social development in Asia. The specificpurpose is to study the development goals set for the region and the extent to which these have been achieved.
Geographically, the course is focused on South and Southeast Asia, but comparisons are made with otherparts of Asia. Particular emphasis is placed on the problems that arise in planning and implementation, theactual obstacles to sustainable development.

Course structure
The language of instruction is English.
Teaching format
The teaching consists of lectures and seminars.
Assessment
The course is examined by an oral examination, minor written assignments and a take-home exam.
