JEBEL goes to Saudi Arabia – 2012... JEBEL and the Saudi Geological Survey host a 600 km crustal transect across the Saudi Arabian shield involving c. 20 international scientists, post-docs and PhD students.
Taimyr – 2012... The river has dropped and the crossing is easy. Work is fantastic – we see the best exposures of folded limestone yet. This makes all our trials and tribulations worth it!
LOMROG III Lomonosov Ridge off Greenland – 2012 ... This morning, the hovercraft Sabvaabaa materialized out of the fog again: we have our second rendezvous with Yngve and Gaute here at about 84 N at the Gakkel Ridge.

Excursion to Iceland – 2011... Tens of kilometres long, several meters wide and more than 10 meters deep – this was one of the most impressive geological features I had ever seen.

Cave reconnaissance in southern Thailand – 2010... Visiting the caves of southern Thailand not only means beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, but also exciting meetings with snakes, bats, darkness and high humidity.
Pilot Coring in Southern Taiwan – 2010... After constructing an improvised bamboo platform to reinforce the original one, we went back out on the lake to a new coring position closer to the wetland.
Lomonosov Ridge off Greenland – LOMROG II 2009... Today we started coring! The first core on top of the Lomonosov Ridge was a success. We managed to land a over 5 m long piston core which we hope will reveal many secrets about the evolution of ice and ocean in this part of the world.
Follow icebreaker /Oden/ on the LOMROG expedition 2007... This was the day when /50 Let Pobedy/ had to depart from us to go back to Murmansk. She certainly departed in a ceremonial style, passing us very close while playing out load Russian classical music. It has been a good two weeks of collaboration between the two icebreakers.
