Kerstin Hesselgrens gästprofessur till Jennifer Clapp

Kerstin Hesselgrens gästprofessur för 2027 tilldelas Jennifer Clapp från Waterloo University i Kanada. Hon kommer under 2027 att vara verksam vid Stockholms universitet.

Vetenskapsrådet har beslutat om vem som tilldelas Kerstin Hesselgrens gästprofessur för 2027. Professuren tilldelas internationellt framstående kvinnliga forskare inom samhällsvetenskap eller humaniora. Gästprofessuren för 2027 tilldelas Jennifer Clapp från Waterloo University i Kanada. Hon kommer att vara verksam vid Kulturgeografiska institutionen, Stockholms universitet.

Motiveringen till beslutet:
“Jennifer Clapp is a leading scholar in the research field of food security, environmental sustainability, and global economic dynamics. Clapp’s work departs from the characterization of the current situation as a multi-crisis: food security is threatened by the accelerating climate crisis; pandemics and wars cause shocks in supply chains; extreme concentrations of wealth contribute to global failures to reduce world hunger. To address these issues, Professor Clapp approaches them from an international political economy perspective, analyzing international dependencies and political and economic processes.”
