Om mig
Åsa Broberg is a Senior Lecturer in Education with a specialization in the history of education. She has a professional background as a historian, upper secondary school teacher, and chef. In 2014, she completed her PhD with the dissertation Education at the Boundary Between School and Work: Pedagogical Change in Swedish Vocational Education, 1918-1971. Her research focuses on the challenges of vocational education. Through a historical perspective, she seeks to illuminate the origins of the issues that arise in an educational sector shaped by the tensions and demands of both the school system and working life.
Ongoing research:
History of Vocational Education and Training for Women: Multinational Commentaries. Springer (to be published in spring 2027)
The handbook brings together international historical accounts of women’s participation in vocational education and training (VET), examines how women's education in areas like domestic work, textiles, and healthcare developed alongside societal changes.
