About me

Lazar Rusu, Dr., Docent, is a Professor at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University, Sweden, with over 39 years of professional experience in both industry and academia in the field of information systems. Throughout his career, he has held various short-term positions, including roles as a visiting research fellow at the University of Brighton (1998) and Manchester Metropolitan University (2000) in the UK, a visiting researcher (postdoctoral position) and senior researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden (2002-2005; 2008-2009), and a visiting professor at Antwerp Management School, Belgium (2019-2020). Professor Rusu’s expertise encompasses various educational levels, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. His research interests include business-IT alignment, IT governance, IT outsourcing, and digital transformation. Professor Rusu leads the research groups in IT Management and Governance as well as Digital Transformation at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV). His research findings have been widely published in prestigious international conferences and journals in the information systems field. Additionally, he has been instrumental in leading various grants and research projects in the IT and Education sectors, backed by research funds from EU and national research funding agencies. Recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Association for Information Systems, Professor Rusu has also been honored with the IBM Academic Award and the Outstanding Reviewer Award at Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2020).
