Research project IT Governance Influence on Digital Transformation
The aim of this PhD thesis project is to study the IT governance mechanisms that influence digital transformation in different organizations. We also study their influence on organizations’ performances.

Many organizations are concerned about growing their direct investments in digital technologies. They are seeking a digital transformation that offers value creation opportunities.
It has been found that information technology (IT) governance plays an important role in organizations' digital initiatives. Previous studies have identified IT governance structures, processes, and relational mechanisms to increase firms’ performance. However, the traditional IT governance mechanisms might no longer be valid in this digital era.
Unfortunately, few studies have investigated this area. Therefore, this thesis project will look to identify the IT governance mechanisms that influence digital transformation.
The study contributes to both research and practice. It provides researchers with the IT governance mechanisms that influence digital transformation, and informs practitioners on which IT governance mechanisms to focus on towards a successful digital transformation.
