Research group Early literacy in a digitized society
The research group explores young children's early literacy development, focusing on teaching design and the use of diverse resources. Through interdisciplinary perspectives, the group contributes knowledge to support students' reading and writing development.
Group description
The research group focuses on students’ early literacy development, encompassing both foundational reading and writing skills and the continued development of text-related competencies. Grounded in various theoretical perspectives on language and communication, we aim to contribute knowledge on how children's literacy development can be supported through both digital and analogue resources.
A central perspective in our research is understanding the opportunities young students have to develop their literacy. We pay particular attention to how the design of teaching and the choice of learning resources influence these opportunities. An overarching goal is to contribute to the development of classroom practices that support all students in building both basic literacy skills and more advanced text competencies.
We welcome interdisciplinary perspectives and collaboration. Within the group, we discuss research based on empirical findings as well as theoretical and methodological approaches. A key part of our work involves presenting and discussing works in progress and collaboratively developing project ideas. We also invite researchers, both national and international, to share their work with us.
All interested parties are warmly welcome to participate in the meetings we organize.
