Research project Asking about violence and handling the answer

The research project examines the association between exposure to violence, ill health and long-term sick leave to identify the conditions and opportunities for vocational rehabilitation for people who have been exposed to domestic violence..

The purpose of the research project is to investigate how people who are outside of the labour market due to health-related reasons and have experience of domestic violence (DV) can get closer to working life, and what conditions influence the possibilities for work-oriented activities, improved health and increased work ability.

The background to this project is the association between exposure to violence, ill-health and sick leave, and shortcomings in the detection and mapping of DV, that have prompted government assignments to coordinate efforts to detect DV and support measures for DV victims.

The project aims to contribute to a better work-oriented rehabilitation and activities that account for the experience of domestic violence exposure among the participants. To reach these goals we collaborate with relevant actors, principally via Gävleborg Collaborative Partnership and its collaborative function for rehabilitation, called Trisam.
