Ecology II, 15 credits

About this education

The course provides advanced theoretical and practical knowledge about ecological patterns and processes from the individual level and the ecosystem level. It also illuminates issues in evolutionary, population, conservation and community ecology. The course consists of theoretical blocks and two field projects. The field projects are carried out in small groups at Stockholm University's field stations. All parts of the course emphasise the understanding of ecological theory and how it is possible to test and develop this theory in practice. The course provides a sound basis for more specialised courses within the various specialised fields of ecology. The course is given in the period August - October.
