Master’s Programme in Language Science with a Specialisation in Czech
The Master’s Programme provides an in-depth two-year course of study of the core areas of linguistics in the chosen language. The programme aims to extend and develop your grasp of your chosen field of study, as well as to strengthen your inter-disciplinary knowledge in areas like scientific theory, ethics and research methodology.

Specialisation in Czech
The Master’s Programme in Language Science with a Specialisation in Czech provides an in-depth two-year course of study of the core areas of general linguistics and Czech linguistics. The programme aims to extend and develop your grasp of your chosen field of study, as well as to strengthen your inter-disciplinary knowledge in areas like scientific theory, ethics and research methodology.
The programme ends with a 30-credit degree project where you design and conduct a scientific investigation addressing an issue in the field of Czech studies.
Providing advanced knowledge and skills in the language sciences, the programme may serve as preparation for PhD studies, or for a professional career in connection with language.

Programme overview
The training consists of compulsory courses that are common to the whole programme, compulsory courses in your main field of study, as well as optional courses. The optional courses can be freely selected from the courses at Stockholm
University but you need to confirm your selection of courses with the coordinator of your specialisation.Schedules and Course literature are available on each course page.

Scientific Methods and Research Ethics, 7.5 ECTS credits
Elective courses amounting to 15 ECTS creditsSemester 2
Elective courses amounting to 30 ECTS credits
Of the elective courses in semesters 1 and 2, 22.5 ECTS credits must be specific to the main field of your chosen profile. The courses are selected among those offered by the main field department in consultation with the coordinator. One of the profile courses may be taken in year two; if so, an elective course will take its place in year one.

Skill training courses amounting to 15 ECTS credits
Elective courses amounting to 15 ECTS credits
English for Academic Research, 7.5 credits may be taken either as a skill course or an elective course.Semester 4
