Legal English
The aim of the course Legal English is to provide in-depth knowledge of legal English as well as an increased ability to communicate in international legal contexts, both academic and professional, in an effective manner.
Legal English is given as an elective course within the framework of the exchange programmes at the Department of Law, Stockholm University. Swedish law students admitted by the department are also given access to the course.

Furthermore, the course will provide the ability to critically analyze legal texts in English and to write such texts themselves, and to present and discuss legal problems in English. As a part of the course, students will also discuss the characteristics of English legal rhetorics.

Teaching format
Instruction is given in the form of lectures and seminars. The language of instruction is English.
Assessment
The course is examined on the basis of active attendance at seminars, the writing of essays as well as oral presentations.
