School Placement III, Programme in Early Childhood Education
The course is part of the Preschool Teacher Program within the English semester, semester 3. The course is given to preschool teacher students who are studying the English semester.
The course focuses on preschool didactics with a subject-specific connection to natural sciences and sustainable development. The course includes planning and leading activities/projects where children are given opportunities for concrete exploration and where aesthetic expressions are also linked to the exploratory approach.
An action plan for the VFU period is developed in collaboration between the student and VFU supervisor based on expected study results and the activities in the preschool.
Important to note:
- Those of you who are studying the English semester will do your VFU on different dates than those studying the “regular” semester in Swedish. You will therefore have your own schedule and your own VFU portfolio.
- The scope of the VFU course is the same as for the regular semester. The reason that there are different dates for the VFU is that the exchange students are studying a course on Swedish preschool when the preschool teacher students are doing their VFU.
- The language of instruction on the course is Swedish. The reason that some headings here on the course website are in English is that it is currently not possible to create a separate course website for VFU III within the English semester. We have therefore used the English page and then the headings will be in English.
