About us

The Department of Chemistry is part of the Faculty of Science. Our research and education encompass a diverse array of chemistry disciplines, including Analytical, Inorganic, Materials, Organic, and Physical Chemistry.

With a state-of-the-art infrastructure and a team of around 200 chemists we push boundaries of research and education, rooted in the fundamentals of chemistry. As one of Sweden´s largest and most competitive chemistry departments, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges in the energy system, the environment, and health, working towards a sustainable future for all.

Total number of employees: the equivalent of 170 full-time positions
PhD students: 80 externally and internally funded doctoral students
