The Department of Chemistry is located in the Arrhenius Laboratory at the Frescati campus, situated north of Stockholm within the heart of the Royal National City Park.

We are located in the Arrhenius Laboratory, named in honour of our Nobel Prize-winning chemist. The laboratory boasts a unique and award-winning architectural design, predominantly crafted by Ralph Erskine. Nestled within Sweden's first national city park, it is surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes.

When the new campus at Frescati was planned in the 1970s, a green corridor was integrated between the southern and northern sections of the campus to facilitate the movement of birds and insects between Hagaparken and Djurgården.

On Campus

If you're coming from the metro station or the bus terminal, take the path to the left of the large sign that says 'Welcome to Frescati'. Follow the path straight ahead until you pass the Green Villa. The next building, in concrete, is the Arrhenius Laboratory. The walk from the subway station takes about five minutes.

By metro

From the central station in Stockholm (T-centralen), take the red line northbound to Mörby Centrum and get off at the station 'Universitetet'. The journey takes about 10 minutes.

By commuter train Roslagsbanan

Take the north bound train, get off at "Universitetet".

By bus

Take bus numbers 40, 70, 540 and 670 and get off at the station 'Universitet Norra'. Please observe that tickets for buses must be bought in advance.

By car

East side of Roslagsvägen, if using sat nav or similar, type in "Frescatihallen" and you will get to the nearest parking lot.
