This seminar will explore the critical relationship between law and digital forensics in the context of cybercrimes, with a particular focus on cyber sexual offences. As technology advances at a rapid pace, the landscape of cybercrimes has evolved, presenting new challenges for law enforcement, legal professionals, and the judiciary.
The session will offer critical insights into the role of digital evidence in cybercrime investigations and how digital forensics can be a pivotal tool in supporting victims’ claims and ensuring justice is delivered.
A key component of the seminar will be examining the interface between law and technology. The evolving nature of digital crimes introduces unique challenges within the legal process, especially when it comes to the admissibility, authenticity, and handling of digital evidence in court.
The session will address critical issues, such as the varying legal frameworks across different jurisdictions, and the differing legal standards for collecting, preserving, and presenting digital evidence. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of maintaining the integrity of digital evidence and ensuring its proper presentation in judicial proceedings to prevent obstacles that may hinder access to justice.
