How can technology improve learning – and what about ethics when AI-based methods are introduced in schools? This research subject deals with both pros and cons of the technological development in education.

Technology Enhanced Learning focuses on how digital technologies transform current educational practices – and generate new forms of knowledge.

We are interested in the future of education. Current research projects involve virtual cases for learning how patients might react, mapping teachers’ movements in classrooms, and training value for fighter pilots, just to name a few.

Our expertise is in themes like design-based learning, multimodality, design patterns, digitalisation of the educational sector, computational thinking, learning analytics, sustainable innovation for learning and education, computer games, the future of learning in higher education, and ethical and social implications of novel EdTech.
