Research subject Children's and young adult Literature

Stockholm University has Sweden's only professorship in literary studies, especially children's and young people's literature, as well as three senior lectureships in the research field. The professorship was established in 1983 and the first lectureship was appointed in 2012.

The research group consists of a total of about ten teachers, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. The research environment is strong and highly attractive, nationally and internationally.

The seminar for children's and young people's literature at doctoral and postgraduate level started more than thirty years ago and is the leading one in the Nordic countries. Key areas of research are 18th and 19th century children's literature, gender studies, intermediality and children's literary modernism.
