Research subject Development Economics
Research in development economics at Stockholm University focuses on understanding the determinants of productivity, growth and well-being in low-income countries, and on how public policy can alleviate poverty.
Ongoing projects study credit markets, agricultural productivity, infrastructure investments, market integration, social assistance programs, public health services, educational interventions, migration, inequality, and social and political institutions. This work employs theoretical approaches, large data collection efforts and frequently the implementation of randomized controlled trials.
