Welcome activities
Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities that stretch over a few weeks at the beginning of each semester. The programme is voluntary (attendance is optional) and includes Arrival Service at the airport and an Orientation Day, see more details about these events below.
Your department may also organise activities for welcoming international students. More information will be provided by your specific department.

For new international students
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: To be admitted to the course you need to have made proper arrangements with a supervisor associated with the department. Contact the Director of Studies for the department. If no arrangements have been made with a supervisor upon application your application will be denied.
The student participates under supervision in the daily activities of a research laboratory and performs tasks that are normally included in the work. The work is carried out in the field of organic chemistry.

Course structure
The student participates under supervision in the daily activities of a research laboratory and performs tasks that are normally included in the work. The work is carried out in the field of organic chemistry.
Teaching format
The teaching consists of an introduction, internship with assignments in organic chemistry in a research-driven workplace. The practice takes place under supervision. The course is given in English.
Assessment
After completing the course, the student is expected to be able to:
- describe the methods used in the internship work and explain method choices
- based on the logbook discuss the problems encountered in the internship work and how to solve them
- reflect on their own learning during the internship work and identify their need for additional knowledge and skills
Examination
- Lab notes in logbook format. The logbook should be written in English
- Oral presentation in English
To pass the final grade, participation in the introduction and daily activities is required. Participation in daily activities should correspond to normal working hours.
