Research subject Global Latin American Studies
Latin America is not an isolated region in the world. Since colonization, the region has been strongly interlinked with global economic, political, social and cultural systems.
Research within this area analyzes, on the one hand, how Latin America has been influenced by the world, both historically and contemporarily. On the other hand, research on this area also examines how Latin America influences the world in different ways. More specifically, we analyze how trade flows, migrations, the creation and shaping of multilateral and regional organization, as well as cultural and political expressions are constructed through interactions between Latin America and the world.
