Latin America is one of the most unequal regions in the world.
Research in the area of social movements and inequalities focuses on: 1) tracing the social and historical roots of different forms of inequalities; 2) understanding how inequalities are lived and experienced, legitimated or contested in different spheres of everyday life; and 3) analyzing the ways different groups mobilize in order to claim rights and find ways to redress inequalities.
