Engelsk titel: Introducing a new LES model for atmospheric boundary layer simulations

Abstract (på engelska)

We are developing a new LES model for simulation of the atmospheric boundary layer. The foundation for the model is the spectral-element solver Nek5000. In this seminar, I will give a brief overview of the methods used in Nek5000 and present the tools we have implemented to be able to simulate the atmosphere. I will also present the simulations I am working on right now, and discuss some of the challenges involved in model development and testing.
