Kursen är för dig som läst Praktisk filosofi II. Kandidatkursen ger dig möjlighet att ytterligare fördjupa dig i den praktiska filosofins problemområden.
Obligatoriskt upprop VT24: Tisdagen den 16 januari kl. 9-12 i D734.Registrering på kursen sker efter det obligatoriska uppropet (campusregistrering). Kan man inte närvara på uppropet, men vill behålla sin plats på kursen bör man kontakta studierektor eller expeditionen före uppropet.

Litteraturkurs 1 (VT24): The role of ideals in political philosophy

Undervisningsspråk: SvenskaThe topic of this course is the debate on the role of normative ideals in political philosophy. What often goes under the heading of ‘ideal theory,’ represented by liberal egalitarians such as Ronald Dworkin and John Rawls, is strongly criticized by theorists who argue that political philosophy at large should take much more seriously the nonideal circumstances consisting of relations of domination and power under which normative ideals, principles, and ideas are supposed to be applied.
In the course, the ideal vs non-ideal theory debate is introduced and critically assessed. A special focus is put on the role of feasibility for the justification of political theories, a question which has received an increased interest in the recent debate.Litteratur:

Litteraturkurs 2 (VT24): Moral Relativism

Undervisningsspråk: EngelskaMoral relativism is one of the few ethical theories that people outside of philosophy can identify. Many people consider themselves moral relativists. Others think moral relativism is obviously wrong. Moral relativism is also controversial in public life: its most vocal opponents condemn it as the scourge of the modern world, while its defenders regard it as the antidote to ethnocentrism and the only ethical position that can ensure tolerance.
Outside of ethics, moral relativism also crops up at surprising places, from psychology, cognitive science, social or cultural anthropology (where it originates), to the philosophy of science and social and political theory.
This course looks at moral relativism from a variety of perspectives and uses it as a gateway to study related questions in different disciplines and areas of philosophy. It examines the problem of moral relativism in metaethics, moral psychology, experimental philosophy, scientific and practical reasoning, cultural anthropology, social ontology and political philosophy.

Delkurs 3 Examensarbete 15 hp
Delkursen består av ett examensarbete i form av en filosofisk uppsats vars inriktning bestäms av studenten i samråd med kursens lärare och handledare.
