MSc theses in the marine field that have been approved between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022 are eligible for the 2022 Dyrssen award. The project must be within a marine science discipline and approved at a Swedish university. The authors of two theses receive a cash prize and are invited to speak at the Marine Science Conference.

Cash prizes are 10.000 SEK for first prize and 5.000 SEK for second prize.

The Dyrssen award is managed and awarded by the Swedish Society for Marine Sciences (SHF). The award honors David Dyrssen (1922 - 2011), emeritus professor in analytical chemistry at the University of Gothenburg. As one of the founding members of the SHF, he spent his career being an active proponent for the promotion of trans-disciplinary research in marine sciences.

We now accept nominations for the 2022 Dyrssen award until 28 September (extended deadline). For information about nominations to the Dyrssen award please visit our website or contact dyrssen@shf.se.

The price ceremony will take place during the Marine Research Days, which will this year be in Stockholm November 16-18. Save the date! More details and a link for enrolment will be available in the next few weeks.
