Through the bill, the government shows that it has understood where many of the problems for Sweden's marine areas lie and what would need to be addressed. However, the Baltic Sea Centre notes that the government's proposal for a parliamentary decision only relates to a few areas of action. In other points, the government only presents its assessments and intentions. This is of course also valuable, but for most marine environmental problems there is sufficient scientific knowledge to act now. At the same time, the Baltic Sea Centre understands that some decisions and measures are not suitable for inclusion in legislative proposals and therefore looks forward with confidence to an increased budget and targeted assignments to the relevant authorities during the autumn. The question of resources is central to the possibilities of implementing decisions. It is with great concern that the Baltic Sea Centre has noted cuts to central administrative authorities.
