A New Research Environment and Seminar Series- Education and Migration
The new research environment Education and Migration will gather together researchers from different disciplines, departments, and universities- both nationally and internationally. The overall aim is to provide research-based answers and knowledge for one of the key education policy issues of our time – the organisation of education systems and the delivery of education in relation to societal change and social cohesion. A new seminar series on the subject will begin this autumn.
The approach to the subject is varied- from school, and the transition between different school and education forms, to establishment in the labour market and inclusion in society. Responsible at the department are Professor Marianne Teräs and Professor Stefan Lund.
–We are currently confronted with that depending on where children and young people reside, and the school they attend, these factors play a crucial role in their possibility of achieving knowledge requirements and thus also transitioning into higher education and into working life. Our goal is to gather, present, and initiate research that looks into this from a broad perspective, in order to find answers and solutions, says Marianne Teräs.
