About us

The Department of Teaching and Learning educates teachers for levels from primary school to adult education and conducts research within our areas of competence.

The Department of Teaching and Learning was founded in January 2022 and is part of the Faculty of Humanities. Three units with their own commissions are part of the department: The National Centre for Swedish as a Second Language, National tests in SFI and PRIM.

Teacher education

At the Department of Teaching and Learning we educate students who will teach from primary school to adult education and we also offer additional qualifications for practicing teachers and school leaders.

Multidisciplinary research

We have a strong and dynamic research environment at the Department of Teaching and Learning. Teaching and learning is a broad multidisciplinary subject and our researchers examine how teaching should be organised in a particular subject, in order to give students the best conditions for knowledge development.
