Research subject Transitions and Turning Points in Education and Working-life
As education systems and working life become increasingly fragmented, varying, and transnational, the journey from education and into workplace has become both more complex and more demanding. Conditions are created and critical choices are made long before entering workplace, where secure careers and long-term employment are no longer a given.
In today’s society, there are increasing demands placed on individuals to learn and develop competences in a constantly changing job market. Matching and employability are central questions where the choice of educational path and equal opportunity in education can play a crucial role.
Our researchers are interested in these choices, the counselling that is offered, as well as the opportunities and conditions for the individual for the entire span, from primary to upper secondary school and on to vocational and higher education. Another interest in this research area is in learning and the transition between working life, education, and leisure.
From an equality perspective, we examine the unique conditions and challenges which can be connected to migration, integration, and individuals with norm-breaking functionality.
