Antisemitism is a recurring phenomenon in contemporary Sweden that manifests itself in a wide range of social contexts. Reports show the persistence of antisemitism in the everyday lives of Jewish youth. The aim of the current research project is to investigate the semiotics of antisemitism and youth’s experiences of antisemitism in contemporary Sweden.

Learning German in the Shadow of the Holocaust - an Empirical Study of Processes of Cultural Learning

The project explores the ways in which the work and correspondence of Swedish exile literary scholars Käte Hamburger and Walter A. Berendsohn shaped responses to questions about the role of literature in times of war and crisis.

This three-year research project centers on representations of homelessness in urban literature from the German language areas in Europe. The purpose of the project is to expand the scientific knowledgebase on how the constitution of urban space influences the subjective and existential experience of homelessness as represented and imagined in literature.

This PhD thesis investigates West German cultural policy during the Cold War, focusing on the cultural power struggle on Swedish soil between the two German states.
