Curating Art: Warm Outside. Exhibition at Accelerator
Event
Date: Wednesday 27 October 2021
Time: 18.00 – 19.00
Location: Accelerator entrance
Accelerator is Stockholm University's exhibition space, where art, science and societal issues meet. The exhibition space has a collaboration with the International Master’s Programme in Curating, including Art, Management and Law, at Stockholm University. The students of the master's programme create events in connection to themes that Accelerator wishes to highlight. The curator for this event is Sarah Rodrigues, student of the master's programme. This evening focuses on folklore, mysticism, and transformation in connection to Jonathan Baldock’s exhibition, Warm Inside.
Finally, the long Covid hibernation is over, and we shift from the inner to the outer, and erupt into the social sphere from our individual cocoons. How can we navigate this transfer of energy and circumvent anomie – the loss of group connectedness? In this evening's performance of song and dance, we invite you to join the communal setting as a charged space and invoke the forces that surround us. We call upon the ancient myths, the shapeshifters, the wisdom of the forest, and exercise the rituals that guide us in the spirit of collective effervescence.
The performance begins with a walk from the entrance of Accelerator to "Dansbanan" at Stora Skuggan.
The event is free, but donations are welcome! If you would like to make a contribution, please swish to 0728642437.
