NextGEMS hackathon, Stockholm March 25-28, 2025
NextGEMS is an ongoing Horizon 2020 project focusing on development and application of storm-resolving (km-scale resolution) global coupled climate models.
Throughout the project we have held hackathons where the project members come together to work with the latest model output, offering great opportunities not only to access and familiarise with these frontline data sets, but also to interact with researchers in the community, learn from each other and share knowledge and results. In March 2025, the sixth and final hackathon of the project will be arranged here in Stockholm, with a special focus on renewable energy production (wind and solar power) production, and how it might be affected by climate change. For the purpose of addressing this particular challenge problem, we also have room for a limited number of local early career researchers to join.
More details can be found on the hackathon website that will also take you to the registration page. To join as an external challenge problem hacker, check the box to indicate you will be applying for travel support, and follow the instructions.
