Didactics and Curatorial Turn: A Conversation
Workshop
Date: Wednesday 31 January 2024
Time: 13.00 – 15.00
Location: Accelerator, Stockholm University
This workshop will focus on displacement, relating it to intermediality and applying it to learning. Ellen Kobe's use of displacement will be explored in her video artwork ABEND ÜBER POTSDAM 2022.
The point of departure is the 1930 painting of the same name by Lotte Laserstein.
Just as the Jewish painter Laserstein, shortly before her emigration, captured the mood before the outbreak of National Socialism in a scene iconographically reminiscent of the Last Supper, the performance, almost a century later at the same location, poses the question on of what kind of world change we will have to face in the future.
