Research subject Didactics, Teaching, and Learning
Central in this field is how knowledge, learning, and skills develop in the interaction between people in different environments and contexts. We examine didactical questions from a broad, societal perspective, which is not limited to only examining schools and subjects.
The word didactics comes from the Greek didaktikós, meaning the theory of teaching or art. As a science, didactics can be traced back to the antiquity, but the implications of it have changed in relation to both scientific development and societal change.
Through digitalisation, knowledge is produced, reaches and can be owned in a completely different way than before. Artificial intelligence brings about new opportunities, but also ethical questions. Some of our researchers focus on teaching in primary schools. Others are focused specifically on adult education, in the form of organized education as well as in daily life and work life. A particular focus of our research is on higher education learning practices.
