Research subject Inequality, Social Stratification and Mobility
Social stratification has been a central research area in Sociology ever since the discipline was established. The research area focuses on theories of inequality and social stratification in modern societies.
Central to the research area are for example theories of social class mobility and inequality of educational opportunities, as well as social stratification in other dimensions, e.g gender, ethnicity and health. Distribution of power is also central to the research area.
