After wishes from participants in the first workshop, this workshop will focus on methodology in the study of emotions.
Keynote Speaker
We are happy to announce Dr. Disa Sauter as our keynote speaker! Disa Sauter is a psychologist from University of Amsterdam, and a member of Amsterdam Interdisciplinary Centre for Emotion (AICE). She is associate editor of the journal Emotion Review and president of the International Society for Research on Emotion (ISRE). Her research explores the communication of emotions, particularly through non-verbal expressions such as laughter, cries, and facial expressions, where she employs diverse methods, including cross-cultural comparisons and computational techniques.
Panel Discussion
The workshop will also feature a multidisciplinary panel on methodology in the study of emotions. The panel includes Dr. Disa Sauter as well as Professor Kristina Fjelkestam (Gender Studies, with an interest in queer temporalities and retrophilia), Dr. Alvar Blomgren (History, drawing on sociological methods in his research on emotions), and Professor Karin Dirke (History of Ideas, with a new research project within human-animal studies investigating pain in animals).
Food and Dinner
A light lunch and fika will be provided during the workshop. In the evening, we plan to dine together. Venue and details TBA.
Kind regards,
Sara Ekström, Mari Eyice, and Annika Berg
