SU Law at the 32nd Willem C. Vis Moot: A Global Achievement
Stockholm University is proud to celebrate its participation in the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, held in Vienna in April 2025. Our team represented the university with distinction and received an Honorable Mention for their Memorandum for Respondent.

The 32nd Vis Moot brought together teams from nearly 400 universities, representing over 65 countries across all continents. This extraordinary diversity makes the Vis Moot not only the largest but also the most internationally representative moot court competition in the field of commercial law and arbitration.
Significance in Legal Education and Practice
The Vis Moot is widely regarded as the world’s most prestigious international commercial law moot court competition. Its primary aim is to foster the study and practice of international arbitration and commercial law, offering students a unique opportunity to develop advanced research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Participation in the Vis Moot is recognised as a vital step in training the next generation of leaders in international arbitration and commercial law. The competition simulates real-world arbitration proceedings, encouraging the practical application of legal theory and contributing to the development and harmonisation of international commercial law standards.
