The Department of Psychology is a creative and international workplace for education and research.
The Department of Psychology offers a broad range of psychology education at all levels. Our courses and programs are among the most popular at Stockholm University.
The Department of Psychology has 200 regular staff members, and 1,200 students study with us each semester. The Stockholm University Psychology Clinic has up to 4,000 visits per year. Our research is often interdisciplinary and strongly linked to societal developments, which also characterises our course offerings. The Stress Research Institute and the Centre for Cultural Evolution are integral parts of the department.
As a member of our staff, you will be part of an international and modern workplace. The Albano campus offers functional offices and lecture rooms with the latest technology and welcoming open areas for both students and staff. The Department of Psychology is a creative and international workplace for research and education.
The Department of Psychology conducts successful research in occupational and organisational psychology, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, perception and psychophysics, personality, social and developmental psychology, psychobiology and epidemiology.
Our researchers publish regularly in international journals and actively participate as experts in the media. We collaborate extensively with external organisations and we have a constant exchange of visiting students and researchers from all over the world. Our work is often interdisciplinary and strongly linked to societal developments. The Stress Research Institute and the Centre for Cultural Evolution are integral parts of the department.
As a researcher with us, you will have access to modern research infrastructure. We have a recording studio, advanced laboratories for sleep- and sensory research, and large databases that enable complex studies over time. The department has its own psychological clinic for research and education. We also collaborate with the Stockholm University Brain Imaging Centre, offering state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including MRI, EEG, TMS, and X-ray microscopy.

The Department of Psychology is a creative and international workplace for education and research.
The Support Division employs around 25 staff members to contribute to a well-functioning educational and research environment. The Support Division consists of three units dealing with finance and human resources, student counselling and educational administration, as well as communication, IT and infrastructure including archiving and registry. As a large department, we have a wide range of administrative roles and tasks, providing good opportunities for professional development.
