Dragonflies in constructed wetlands

Wetlands has disappeared at very high rates during the last 200 years, but are currently being recreated and restored. The importance of these newly constructed wetlands for insect biodiversity is largely unknown. For this reason, we have a large project studying insect and spider biodiversity in a large number of wetlands.

We are now looking for a student interested to study dragonflies and their allies in these wetlands, and to examine the importance of shoreline grazing, nutrient availability and other factors on species composition and species number.

The project includes field work in Uppland, doing inventories of wetlands.
