Organisation
The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. The work is led by the head of department, who is supported by the deputy head of department, the head of administration and the board. The board is the link between the department and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

ACT – Unit of Act in Communication with Technology
The unit ACT conducts research in human-computer interaction, collaboration via various IT systems, mobile computer systems, computer games and programming languages. Education is conducted in computer games, digital media, programming and computer science.
IS – Unit of Information Systems
The Unit of Information Systems conducts research and education in analysis, modeling, and management of Information Systems in disciplines such as Business Process Management, Database and Information Retrieval Technology, Enterprise Modeling, IT Management, IT Governance, Requirements Engineering, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Systems Integration, Natural Language Processing, Service Oriented Architecture and Health Informatics.
IDEAL – Unit of Interaction Design and Learning
The Unit of Interaction Design and Learning (IDEAL) conducts research and education in interaction design, IT and learning, immersive technologies, and project management.
SAS – Unit of Systems Analysis and Security
The unit researches within Information Technology and Information Science methods for analysis of complex systems to create the basis for decisions, identify and quantify risks, create new services, and to improve security and trust in the digital society. The research includes data science, immersive networks, cyber security and computational risk and decision analysis.
SPIDER Centre
The aim of SPIDER’s work is inclusive digitialisation that benefits all. SPIDER combines research and practice to increase the knowledge about global digital development and inclusivity, and to acheive the Sustainable Development Goals.
