Studying with a disability

In aim to facilitate your studies, Stockholm University offers different kinds of disability study support to students with long-term disabilities, depending on your situation. The aim is to give all students the ability to study on equal terms.

Please, follow the steps below: 

  1. Before you can apply for support, you need to have received your interim personal identity number (T-number).
  2. Fill out the application form for NAIS 
  3. Arrange a meeting with the coordinator of disability study support. They will contact you via email. 
  4. Receive the downloadable certificate from NAIS.
  5. Email us at DSV, studentstod@dsv.su.se, and book a meeting about your recommended adjustments. The meeting will take approximately 20 minutes and will be held in the Nod Building (Campus Kista) or via Zoom. We will send you a link to a secure up-loading service. Upload your certificate via this link in advance of your the meeting with us. 

Important to know:

  • The certificate is valid for all courses and programmes at Stockholm University. Therefore, it is important that you contact us at DSV to be able to get adjustments for studies at our department (see 5. above). It will not automatically be given.
  • The adaptations listed in the certificate are recommendations. Read more in the certificate about your responsibilities and the department's responsibilies.

Renew NAIS certificate with new recommendations or new validity period: contact the coordinator of disability study support who issued your NAIS certificate, or email studentstod@su.se.
