Studying with a disability

In the aim to facilitate your studies, Stockholm University offers different kinds of disability study support to students with long-term disabilities, depending on your situation. The aim is to give all students the ability to study on equal terms.

Please, follow the steps below:

  1. Before you can apply for support, you need to have received your interim personal identity number (T-number).
  2. Fill out the application form for NAIS
  3. Discuss with a coordinator at Disability Services. They will contact you.
  4. Receive the downloadable certificate from NAIS.
  5. Email us at DSV, studentstod@dsv.su.se, and book a meeting about your adjustments. The meeting will take approximately 20 minutes and will be held via Zoom or in the Nod Building (Campus Kista). We will send you a link to a secure up-loading service. Upload your certificate via this link in advance of your meeting with us.

Important to know:

  • The certificate is valid for all courses and programmes at Stockholm University. Therefore, it is important that you contact us at DSV to be able to get adjustments for studies at our department (see 5. above). It will not automatically be given.
  • The types of adjustments specified in the certificate are either decided or recommended. Decided adjustments should always be provided upon request – we do our best to meet your needs. Recommended adjustments are provided if the course coordinator assesses that they are achievable in relation to the course's learning objectives and can be implemented practically and within budget. Read more in the certificate about your responsibilities and the department's responsibilies.

Renewal of NAIS certificate with new recommendations or updated validity period: contact the coordinator at Disability Services who issued your certificate, or email studentstod@su.se.
