Master’s level
We offer a number of master’s courses, which can be combined into a master's degree in either economic history or international relations.
Master Programmes will be open for application 17 March to 15 April for Swedish/EU citizens.
All courses offered by our department at the Master's level are conducted in English.
Students enrolled in our Master's programmes are assured a spot in all our courses. Non-programme students may be admitted to our Master's courses, subject to the availability of vacancies.
Master’s programmes
We offer the following programmes:
Master’s programme in Global Political Economy (GPE)
Master´s programme in International Relations
Master´s programme in historical studies, specialization in economic history
This programme is hosted by the History department. Note that this programme requires a good knowledge of Swedish, as courses held at the History Department are conducted entirely in Swedish.

Late applications
Due to the number of applicants and the evaluation process, late applications are not accepted to our master’s programmes in Global Political Economy and International Relations.
Non-EU Students:
As of 2023, the Master's programme in Global Political Economy and the Master's programme in International Relations are no longer part of the non-EU admission round (also referred to as the First International Admission Round). This means that applicants from outside the EU/EEA region cannot apply to these Master's programmes.
Thesis
Please submit your bachelor’s thesis with your application to Antagning/University Admissions.
A thesis is defined as a 20-25 paged scientific paper which has the following components:
• A research question
• A theory section
• A clearly specified method
• Empirical/data section
• Analysis
