Many of the courses at the department have written seated exams as the main form of assessment. Your identity is anonymized for most classrom examinations. When you sign up for an exam, your name is replaced with an anonymization code.

Important! Be sure to sign up in advance for your exams through Ladok (or follow the instructions given to you by your teacher or course administrator).

Most of the written seated exams are centrally administered by Examination Services. You will find more information about room and seat assignments, and examination rules on their web page.

Examination Services

If you have previously studied at another Swedish or foreign institution of higher education, you may apply for a credit transfer for the whole or part of your previous courses. In order for your application to be considered, you must be a registered student at Stockholm university, and actively pursue your studies here.

If you wish to apply for a credit transfer for courses which form a part of your major, or which may be counted towards your degree, you should hand in your application for credit transfer to the director of studies of the major. Contact information of the respective directors of studies for all the majors at the department are on the contact page "directors of studies". Please get in touch with the director of studies before filling out the application for help and counseling.

If you wish to have previous studies, which lie outside of your major, credited towards your Bachelors' degree, then the evaluation is done by the degree office. For more information go to the central Credit transfer page.

Discontinuation of a course means that you do not intend to complete your studies in the course. You therefore give up your course place.
Please inform the department if you do not wish to continue with your studies or your course.

Early discontinuation

You may choose to do a course discontinuation yourself in Ladok. If this is done within three weeks from the start of the course (early discontinuation) then you can reapply for the course again some other term through universityadmissions.se

Late discontinuation

If you choose to discontinue your studies after three weeks have passed since course start, then you cannot reapply for the course again at some later term through universityadmissions.se. Instead, you must contact your course administrator or the student affairs office in order to enquire about the possiblity of resuming your studies.

Please note, you may resume your studies only if there is an available place on the course. Previous course registration does not guarantee you a place in the course.

The department is actively working towards creating an environment that provides all employees and students equal rights and possibilities to carry on with their work and responsibilities in a thriving atmosphere.

If you as student or employee feel that you have been unjustly treated, discriminated against or harrassed, then you should contact the director of studies, the equal treatment representative, the head of the department, or the equality coordinator at Stockholm University.

There is one student council for all the subjects taught at the department. If you want to join the student council or if you're interested in its work, please contact the coordinating student councellor (studievagledare.slabafinety@su.se)!

Special pedagogical support is provided to students with long-term disabilities. The support is based on your individual needs and aims to facilitate your studies. The goal is to give all students the opportunity to study under equal conditions.
