Research subject Digital Transformation and Governance
Digital transformation in organisations can be the path to value creation and innovation. But in order to be successful, companies also need effective governance mechanisms.
The use of digital technologies – like social media, analytics, cloud, and Internet of Things (IoT) – has changed the way organisations do business. It has also generated new opportunities for innovation and value creation.
Therefore, many organisations are very concerned to grow their investments in digital technologies. They want to go through a digital transformation and exploit its opportunities for value creation. New products and services, automatisation of work processes and development of new business models can be the result.
However, for a successful digital transformation the organisations must be able to integrate their business, digital and IT strategies and have effective governance mechanisms to create value from digital investments. We study how this can be done.
