Linnea Ripenberg presents a chapter from her PhD studies.
The seminar discusses a text about the use of the race concept as an analytical tool in historical research concerned with early modernity, up until the establishment of racial science in the mid eighteenth century. Through a redefinition and a broadening of certain aspects of early modern epistemology and knowledge mediation, she argues for a strong historical continuity in ideas connected to race.”
